MRA produces model-specific windscreens for the BMW S1000RR up to and including the 2018 model year, fitting the bike with the Race Purpose Fairing. The headline option for this generation is the Racing screen, referred to as the R, which is designed as a direct replacement for the standard screen. This racing profile is around 44 centimetres long and features a raised central dome, the so-called double bubble, that lifts airflow up and over the rider. Originally developed by MRA for competition use, this style of screen relieves the rider’s head and helmet from wind pressure and is intended to improve aerodynamics at speed. MRA manufactures its screens from a specially developed acrylic material produced to its own specifications, selected for clarity, strength and durability, and described as shock resistant and UV resistant to help avoid clouding over time.
