Description
TST Industries Load Balancing Resistors are designed to prevent hyperflash on LED integrated tail lights and LED turn signals. Hyperflash occurs because LED signals draw significantly less current than traditional incandescent bulbs, which causes the bike’s factory relay to force the signaling circuit to flash rapidly. The resistors solve this by wiring into the signaling circuit through a parallel connection, with one resistor used per LED signal. Installing a resistor into the circuit near each LED signal increases the amount of current the OEM relay sees when that signal lights up, restoring the correct, normal flash rate. The resistors use tap-splice connectors for wiring, making them an alternative for riders who do not want to use a plug-and-play TST Flasher Relay to control the flash rate of LED signals. Because each incandescent bulb being replaced generally requires its own resistor, replacing both the front and rear signals on a motorcycle typically calls for installing four resistors in total. It is important to note that resistors produce a substantial amount of heat during operation and should therefore be kept away from any plastic panels to avoid damage. Resistors should not be installed together with a TST flasher relay, since both serve the same function.
