Description
This is the MRA Racing “R” windscreen designed for the 2019 onward BMW S1000RR. The 44cm-long racing screen carries a clear elevation in the centre, the so-called double bubble that MRA is known for. The profile was developed through extensive wind tunnel testing to significantly decrease pressure on the helmet at high speed. By letting the rider tuck in behind the screen it manages airflow so that, instead of creating lift, it helps pull the front of the bike onto the road, improving aerodynamics, high-speed stability and aesthetics. This style of screen was originally developed by MRA for competition and is used today by many high-level racers, including works MotoGP teams. The windscreen is constructed from PMMA thermoplastic acrylic manufactured to MRA’s own specifications, a material that is rigid, shock resistant and UV resistant to help avoid clouding over time. It is offered in several finishes, typically clear, black and smoke grey. Installation is straightforward: if your motorcycle already has an OEM screen you simply remove the stock windscreen and fit this one in its place, with the necessary mounting hardware supplied where required. It is a focused upgrade for sport and track-oriented S1000RR riders who spend time tucked in at speed and want reduced helmet buffeting.
