Description
This is a BMC high-performance replacement air filter for the Suzuki GSX-R. It is designed to fit inside the motorcycle’s standard airbox as a direct replacement for the OEM paper air filter, so it can be installed in the original location without modifying the bike. Where a standard paper element is disposable, the BMC filter is built from several layers of cotton gauze soaked in low-viscosity filter oil and enclosed in an epoxy-coated alloy mesh. This construction is intended to increase airflow to the engine for improved throttle response while still trapping contaminants, and BMC’s filters are produced using the company’s Full Moulding process, which creates a one-piece element with no glued corners and therefore fewer weak points. The filter comes pre-oiled and ready to install. Because it is a washable, reusable element, it does not need to be thrown away when dirty; instead it can be cleaned and re-oiled using the appropriate BMC regeneration kit and refitted, which can make it more economical over the life of the bike.
