Description
The BMC FM01068 is a high-performance replacement air filter designed for the Kawasaki Z900RS and Z900RS Cafe from 2018 onwards, as well as the Z900RS Cafe Performance from 2020. It installs directly into the motorcycle’s original airbox to replace the OEM paper air filter, requiring no modifications. The filter is made of highly performing materials that allow increased air flow combined with more efficient filtration, guaranteeing containment of impurities as small as 7 microns, compared to the 10 microns typical of OEM filters. BMC uses a multi-layered cotton gauze soaked with low viscosity oil, covered with an epoxy coated alloy mesh to ensure protection from petrol fumes and oxidization due to air humidity. The filters are produced using BMC’s Full Moulding system, which forms the characteristic red filter from a single mould with no welded joints, avoiding easy breakage. All BMC air filters arrive pre-oiled and ready to fit. Unlike disposable paper filters, this cotton filter is fully washable and reusable, and can be regenerated using the appropriate BMC washing and regeneration kit. This allows owners to clean and re-oil the filter rather than buying replacements, extending its service life over many thousands of kilometres.
