Description
The BMC FM1010/04 is a high-performance replacement air filter designed for the Kawasaki Ninja 400 from 2018 onwards, and is also compatible with related models including the Ninja 250, Z400 and ZX-25R. It fits inside the motorcycle’s original airbox to replace the OEM paper air filter, with no modifications required. The cotton gauze BMC uses has larger links allowing better air flow, while several layers of oil-soaked cotton block any impurity larger than 7 microns, compared to the 10 microns typical of OEM filters. This combination delivers increased air flow alongside more efficient filtration. BMC filters are made of a multi-layered cotton gauze soaked with low viscosity oil, covered with an epoxy coated alloy mesh to ensure protection from petrol fumes and oxidization due to air humidity. They are produced using BMC’s Full Moulding system, which forms the characteristic red filter from a single mould with no welded joints, avoiding easy breakage. The rubber used is durable and long-lasting with optimum adhesion to the airbox. All BMC air filters are supplied pre-oiled. The filter is fully washable and reusable, and can be cleaned and regenerated using the appropriate BMC regeneration kit rather than being replaced.
