Description
The MRA VarioTouringScreen, known as the VTM, is a replacement windshield designed for the BMW S1000XR, including the 2017 model year, fitting the 2015 to 2019 generation. It combines a touring-shaped screen with an adjustable spoiler mounted along its upper edge. This spoiler can be set to seven different positions by hand, without tools, allowing the rider to increase or decrease coverage and redirect airflow to suit their height and riding position. By adjusting the spoiler, air flowing between the screen and the spoiler can be fanned out more or less, which reduces wind pressure on the rider while aiming to avoid generating turbulence. The goal is a calmer pocket of air around the rider, reducing buffeting, wind noise and fatigue on longer rides. MRA manufactures its screens from a specially modified acrylic (Plexiglas) material developed to its own specifications, chosen for clarity, strength and safety. As a German screen manufacturer, MRA produces model-specific windshields intended as direct replacements for the standard screen. The VarioTouringScreen is offered in clear and tinted versions.
