This R&G Racing brake lever guard (BLG0019) fits a wide range of Kawasaki models, including the Ninja 250/400 (’18-), Z400 and Z250 (’19-), Z125 and Ninja 125 (’19-), Ninja 1000SX, Z900, Z H2 and Z900RS. The lever guard concept was originally conceived in Moto2 and has since been adopted by almost every motorcycle racing body worldwide, including the ACU, MSVR, FIM and AMA, where it is a required item for racing. Its primary purpose is to help avoid accidental engagement of the front brake lever during close, wheel-to-wheel racing, where another rider or machine could otherwise knock the lever and trigger the front brakes. The same protection applies equally well to road riding, where the guard shields the lever from wing-mirror strikes and other incidental knocks. The guard is made from lightweight DuPont Zytel nylon, a durable and strong material chosen to resist external forces bumping into the controls and activating the front brake. R&G states that installation is quick and easy, typically taking only a minute or two. R&G’s lever guards are noted as being approved by racing bodies including BSB, the MCRCB and MotoAmerica, making them suitable for both track and road use.
