Description
This BMC air filter is a high-performance replacement element for the BMW G310GS and G310R, with the application referenced under BMC part number FM993/20. It is fitted into the motorcycle’s original airbox in place of the standard OEM paper filter. BMC manufactures these filters using a proprietary soft rubber moulding process that produces the familiar red filter as a single piece with no welded joints in the corners, which avoids breaking risks and yields a frame that is pliable and conformable to ensure an airtight seal within the airbox. The filtering medium is multi-layered cotton saturated with low viscosity oil, which filters out particulates down to around seven microns while increasing overall airflow compared with the OEM paper element. This improved flow is intended to enhance air intake and engine performance on these single-cylinder BMW models. Each BMC filter is supplied pre-oiled and ready to install. Unlike disposable paper filters, this cotton element can be washed, re-oiled and regenerated using the appropriate BMC regeneration kit, allowing it to be reused over the life of the motorcycle. For G310GS and G310R owners it provides both an airflow upgrade and a reusable, long-term alternative to repeatedly buying replacement paper filters.
