Description
The BMC FM764/20 is a high-performance replacement air filter designed for the BMW R1200GS from 2013 to 2018, and is also compatible with related boxer models including the R1200GS Adventure, R1200R, R1200RS and R1200RT. It is installed in the motorcycle’s original airbox to replace the OEM air filter, requiring no modifications. The filter is made of highly performing materials that allow increased air flow combined with more efficient filtration, guaranteeing containment of all impurities as small as 7 microns, compared to the 10 microns typical of OEM filters. BMC filters are made of a multi-layered cotton gauze soaked with low viscosity oil, covered with an epoxy coated alloy mesh to ensure protection from petrol fumes and oxidization due to air humidity. They are produced using BMC’s Full Moulding system, which forms the characteristic red filter from a single mould with no welded joints, avoiding easy breakage. All BMC air filters are supplied pre-oiled and ready to fit. Because it is built from oiled cotton gauze rather than paper, this filter is fully washable and reusable. It can be cleaned and regenerated using the appropriate BMC regeneration kit, allowing it to be reused repeatedly instead of being discarded and replaced, making it both a performance upgrade and a long-term value.
