Description
This BMC air filter is a high-performance replacement element for the Honda CBR1000RR, available to suit multiple generations of the model including 2004 to 2007, 2008 to 2016, and 2017 onward CBR1000RR variants. It fits directly into the motorcycle’s original airbox in place of the OEM paper filter. BMC uses a production system based on soft rubber moulding that produces its familiar red filters as a single piece with no welded joints in the corners, which avoids breaking risks and ensures a conformable, airtight seal. The element uses low viscosity oil saturating multi-layered cotton, filtering particulates down to around seven microns while increasing overall airflow compared with the OEM paper element. BMC states its cotton filters can offer high flow rates and are race-tested for performance and reliability, with the design aimed at delivering higher airflow than the OEM filter for maximum power. BMC offers its motorcycle cotton filters in different versions, including a standard option for everyday use and a race option intended for street and track use. The filter is supplied pre-oiled and, being a cotton element rather than disposable paper, it can be cleaned, re-oiled and regenerated with the appropriate BMC regeneration kit for repeated reuse.
