Description
This BMC air filter is a high-performance replacement element designed for the Royal Enfield 500, fitting models such as the Bullet 500, Classic 500 and Thunderbird 500. It is installed in the vehicle’s original airbox to replace the OEM paper air filter. BMC manufactures its filters using a proprietary full moulding process that yields a truly seamless part, with the characteristic red rubber frame produced from a single mould with no welded joints, which helps avoid breaking risks and ensures the rubber is pliable and conformable for an airtight seal within the airbox. The filtering medium uses low viscosity oil soaked into multi-layered cotton gauze, which filters out particulates down to around seven microns while increasing overall airflow compared with the roughly ten micron OEM paper element. The increased airflow is intended to support engine performance. Every BMC air filter arrives pre-oiled and ready to fit. Unlike a disposable paper filter, this cotton element can be cleaned, re-oiled and regenerated using the appropriate BMC regeneration kit, allowing it to be reused over the life of the motorcycle. This makes it both a performance and a long-term maintenance upgrade for the Royal Enfield 500.
